12 week journey towards balanced parenting
You choose a convenient time to watch my weekly 15-20 minute video and read through information provided. Then, join with myself and your online group for 45 minutes of discussion about the week’s topics.
1
Past
Examine your past to determine how your childhood caregivers affect your interactions with your child. During the first 3 weeks, we explore family systems, our caregivers' style of parenting, our attachment style and how each of these core concepts carry over into our relationship with our children.
2
Present
Learn how a balanced parenting style will encourage your child to become an independent thinker. During weeks 4-9, we walk through the importance of speaking with purpose, engaging all areas of the brain, modeling appropriate behaviors, embracing our emotions and emotional regulation, practicing mindfulness, along with improving eating, sleeping and screentime habits.
3
Future
Explore ways to encourage good decision making while preparing them for a healthy adulthood. During weeks 10-12, we dive into topics such as intrinsic rewards, positive self-concept, healthy decision making, boundaries and safety planning.
Online Community
What do you do when the journey comes to an end and you feel like there is still more to learn? Join with others who have completed the 12 week journey towards balanced parenting and continue to build on the basic skills as you proceed with fine tuning your parenting style in a safe environment. There is always new information related to the brain, there are thousands of exercises to learn for emotional regulation and you can glean from the information other adults in the community share as they discover new ways of interacting with children and communities.
I feel privileged to walk with people in their journey, as families or as individuals, depending on the situation.
Family counseling is an option for those on the journey. While each week in the parenting journey addresses topics that are applicable to everyone, there may be questions surrounding how you can apply this to your own situation. It is recommended that we meet together one time per month to discuss the specific needs of your family.
Individual counseling is offered to those who are interested outside of the parenting journey.

Community Presentations
Partnering with adults that are involved in children's communities helps equip them for successful interactions! Contact me and we can work to create a group presentation that fits the needs of your conference, preschool, daycare, foster family organization, church children's ministry, or school.
